recent post widget hilary template

can anyone help me the recent post widget does not work on the Hilary template the documentation page says to do this

Access your blog Layout > click Add a Gadget > HTML/JavaScript on Sidebar or Footer section, you must place the following names highlighted in blue below.

Now add this code : 3/recentposts

you can increase / decrease this value 3 – its defines how many posts.

i done that 100 times and still NOTHING.. please help its the only thing not working everything else is PERFECT

It works for me. just type in 4/recentposts in a the widget box.

Still not working is you widget box a html gadget? Or can i do it a different way
