Nav Bar in Pachyderm

How can I remove the navigation bar in the pachyderm theme? I have attempted to remove the HTML code, starting with <nav class but when I try to save it, it gives me an error. What sections do I need to remove to completely remove the navigation bar, or have it only say “home”?

Also, I would like the social media options to link to my individual social media accounts. How do I add this as well?
