Minimal Clean Template navigation bar issues

Hi! I’m using the Minimal Clean template. I’m unable to paste the navigation bar HTML into the “top navigation” gadget because my blog doesn’t have that gadget. Where that gadget is supposed to be there is just the “NavBar” by blogger that can’t be edited.

When I add an HTML gadget it creates vertical links and I can’t make them look like the template.

I’ve been trying to fix it for hours. Please help!!

Yes I know. I used that. I read it all and it says to set up navigation to replace the “top navigation” gadget with the given HTML. My problem is that my blog doesn’t have the “top navigation” gadget.

It doesn’t have to do with reading the instructions. Please read my question and help me!

Is there a way to remove the time underneath the title? I’ve been trying to figure this out for hours
