Highlight current page tab in the navigation bar

I use the Pasco template and I try to customize my menu bar and I try to highlight the current page if the user changes to another side. In my editing there is at the first page at the navigation’s tab ‘home’ highlighted with just a red color,in code edited with:
<li><a class='act'.....Home</a></li>

I want that this marking jumps to the current tab in the navigation bar.

I have tried several functions, js or CSS but nothing seems to work ;( … I find till now no solution ;(
